While taking a photo of this flower, I spotted little antennae coming over the top of the stamen. I could have sworn I heard little voices shouting “we’re here! we’re here” just like Horton the Elephant in “Horton Hears a Who!"
Just found this on the pop page and wow! what a fabulous photo! I just love everything about it...the light and shade, the little guy coming over the 'hill', isn't it just great when you are taking a close up and someting takes you by surprise...an added bonus! I don't understand your ref I guess its an American thing? A fave definitely!
@Cherrill Thank you for your enthusiastic comment! "Horton Hears a Who" is a book written by Dr. Seuss. Horton is an elephant that hears little voices on a speck of dust. He discovers that there is a little world called Whoville on the speck of dust, but can't convince anyone else. Dr. Seuss's books are very popular here in the States, but I'm unsure of whether he has worldwide appeal. He also wrote "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" that was made into a movie.
Wow, stunning capture, i have taken many Macro photos of plants only to be spoiled as i didn't notice an insect on it when i took the picture............... but this works really well. Love it!!
