Southern Indiana Palm Tree by lisabell

Southern Indiana Palm Tree

Today we traveled to southern Indiana to Brown County State Park to see the leaves. We found that the leaves were dull and drab this year which was really disappointing. I think it was caused by the long dry spell we had this summer. The same thing happened last year. We headed on to Nashville (Indiana) to walk around and it was completely swarming with people. I found this palm tree made of license plates in front of a local bar. The coconuts are big rocks. I hope they are well secured. We left Nashville and ate dinner at the Farmhouse Cafe which I previously featured in my project. It was nice to get away from the house and work for awhile.
Cool find, great POV!

Glad you got away for awhile, I hope it helped. I was in Salem, farther south and west and they were better in that area. Love the shot, good find.

haha! This is fantastic! I love the view of the license plants and the rocks look like geodes. I'd love to find some of those! I do think the trees are drab or maybe even already past their peak. Disappointing!

@mrssmith Yes, the rocks were geodes! Morgan Monroe State Forest is full of them.

@lisjam1 Really? Can you go to pick them up?
October 16th, 2011
@mrssmith Yes, I have one on my bookcase. I've never broken it open because I figure it took a lot of years to make! Usually there a plenty of broken ones to pick up. I haven't been there in quite awhile so things may have changed.
