Today I had the thrill of winning last week’s theme, but the excitement was quickly squelched by someone who made a cruel comment. I was deeply offended and hurt. I hadn’t taken my photo yet, and I was trying to find something to express how I felt. I wallowed in self pity for a bit and vented my frustration, but then I saw people come to my defense and I read such positive and supportive comments that I was reminded that mostly people are good at heart. So my frown turned upside down and I took a photo of these hearts instead. I’ve decided the memories I am keeping of this day are the good ones. Many thanks to all of you good-hearted souls who reached out to me with such kindness today.
I actually just commented about the picture on the thread for the chalenge and then I saw this picture. I, too, would be bothered but move past it because you are head and shoulders above it. Your work is excellent and I loved the pic (and this one!)
Actually, I just had another thought...goldfish are put in little baggies when they're sold at the pet store so I think for a few minutes, he was just fine in the cup!
There will always be someone...and so it's best to not focus on that one person and to focus on the many others that say congratulations!
Yay! You did it!
I think you are right: most people really are good. But there are always those few who just can't seem to get by without belittling others. I'll never understand those people; it's like they feel better when they make others miserable. Good thing they are in the small minority. Your photo was very neat and I'm really glad you won with it.
Well, I think the important thing is, most of the people liked your entry or you wouldn't have won. As disappointing as such comments can be, I hope you can push it aside and keep doing what you enjoy, and you do it quite well.
There's always someone that wants to upset the apple cart, even if the wagon is fine. Typically, they get buried in their fruitless opinions. I agree with Rick, more people liked your shot than anyone else's and that is what matters more.
Just consider the source and be proud that you're big enough to have haters! :) I am really proud of you and voted for you and think this is just wonderful!
Feel sorry for the negative givers - what miserable outlooks they have - keep on doing what we all love - taking great photos - I enjoy looking at them
(((hugs))) I think your photo was awesome and am so sorry that the negative person had to try to take away from your win :( The internet makes too many people feel brave and rude!
People like that are not even worth paying attention to, but sometimes you just can't help it. So I'm glad you were able to put it aside- and I'm also glad you didn't respond- it would have been bringing yourself down to the same level- definitely NOT you! I like your hearts and what they symbolize. There really are a lot more good people out there than mean ones.
