February 2024: Posting now and again...
January 2023: Took a break, but miss needing to be on the lookout for something beautiful. So let's start again...
Hi @peadar, in the tourist information for Kazimierz Dolny, there is mention of a plague cross, having two transverse beams, apparently there is one at the start of a gorge (which I have not seen) which were placed there during one of the epidemics. This one was in the town itself. In Wikipedia, lots of variations of the cross symbol are listed, and this one is referred to as 'patriarchal cross', stating that the shorter upper crossbar represents the plaque nailed to Jesus' cross. So it seems to be something between a plague and a plaque...!
