Once the blooms fall off the fruit turns red and is ready to remove and use in recipes. Prickly pear juice is considered a health food, it is high in fiber. I honestly don’t know anyone who makes the juice, it’s quite a process because of the thorns/stickers!
I love the blooms on the prickly pear. This is beautiful. There is a great plant not too far from us. I've not had time to get over there. This reminds me that I must donthst. @onewing
