Those huge rolling, building, white Cumulus clouds were across our eastern sky last evening. A neighbor called and said "grab your camera and go outside". As evening came they did indeed have flashes of lightning, so "thunderhead" is the best name for them! Smile.
WOW those are incredible! I'm glad your neighbor is on the same wavelength with you! Out here, I thought we'd had some nice "thunderheads", but they pale by comparison to yours! (And we so seldom get lightening and thunder!)
@onewing@beryl@bkbinthecity Thank you! @Weezilou I grew up in West Texas, cotton farming country. We lived and died by the rain, our economy so depended on the cotton crops! We stood in the yard in the evenings and studied the sky and/or clouds. We were always so hopeful when one of these big boys popped up because almost always they brought rain.
They are amazing in size! We had some clouds last night which were dark and covered most of the sky except for one small spot were there was a gap and the setting sun was lighting the rim. Ugh!!! I was driving and could not stop to get the shot!
