The laughing Purple Passion Flower and the bumble bee
Austin chef Elaine Martin has a great chef's garden behind her Eastside Cafe. She is acknowledged as an urban farming pioneer in the area, using fruits and vegetables from her garden in her restaurants. After dinner we strolled the garden and I couldn't get over the massive Passion Flower vine along one fence. The bumble bee's heads were covered in pollen from the flowers, they just kept diving back in for another pollen meal. I loved how this flower looked like it was laughing!

I couldn't get over how the bees were acting, they were drunk on the flower pollen, at least that's how they acted! They couldn't get enough, they kept diving right back into the flowers for more, more, more! Ha!
