Thank you so much for your comments and fav! I appreciate you taking the time! These plants are very drought tolerant. Even with minimal watering they still look pretty good after all the hot weather we are having!
Thank you for your great comments and favs - here is the yucca from April 30 " https://365project.org/louannwarren/365/2017-04-30". The most interesting thing about the seed pods bursting is that the yuccas don't seem to spread as you would think they would with all the seeds that will be on the ground......I need to research this!
LouAnn, helpful comments on this image. It looks like the focus point was to the left of the topmost green bud. Here is how I would approach this. Pick out what part of the plant you want to serve as the core of the image. I would shoot this in manual and focus the lens until that point was sharp. Then I would adjust depth of field (aperture) according to how much of the subject and background I want to supplement the intended image core. Then I would compose it to remove things that might distract from my intent. Determine what you want then make it central to the image. If using autofocus, lock focus on the intended point then reframe per the above. You can lock focus by "back-focusing" using the AF button on the back of the camera, or by half pressing the shutter. I like back focus, it's easier to manage than the shutter. Keep up the great work. Lou.
