The September 11, 2001 exhibit at the George W. Bush Museum in Dallas
I went with a friend to see the First Ladies exhibit at the Bush Presidential Library yesterday. The permanent collection has one section devoted to the 9-11 attacks on America. The centerpiece of the exhibit are these World Trade Center beams. They are “impact steel”, struck by one of the planes that hit the Twin Towers. The 9-11 attacks profoundly changed the course of the Bush Presidency.
This is striking. The light and shadow on the beams from the World Trade Centre is intriguing and serves to enhance the way they are buckled and bent. The blurring of the people in the background enhances the effect. FAV
Wow. Very intense - there's a profound sadness of humanity here. Well captured and presented Lou Ann. A reminder of how powerful we can all be - just need to turn it to love and light.
Thank you all, September 11 was one of those times that you remember where you were when it happened. The Bush Museum’s 9-11 exhibit is breathtaking really. If you travel to Dallas I hope you can go to the museum to see it.
A strong image, Lou Ann. This must have been difficult to view in person and yes, the attacks certainly did change the course of the Bush Presidency. You've introduced me to several places in Dallas I'd like to visit and this museum is definitely one of them.
@kwind@littleconnie@gaylewood@starlea1@danette Thank you so much for your comments and favs, I appreciate them. These beams arrived at the Library warehouse a year before they were installed. The Library Director took Mr and Mrs Bush to see them and they both were completely overcome with grief. Our nation will never forget 9-11.
