I definitely have a screw loose

I had to laugh at this skeleton in the orthopedic doctor’s office, the top of his skull was missing. I thought he was perfect for this title, it’s a phrase I use when I’ve been dealing with someone who’s strange. Ha!
love the saying too ha ha
I have a couple of screws loose lol

Love the saying; in Dutch it's almost the same: hij heeft een schroefje los...

Oops, not a very good advert for an orthopedic doctor's office is it. Probably more suited at a psychiatrist's rooms instead.

When the screw that was inserted into my shoulder came out by itself and I had to have another operation to have it removed, my mum was telling everyone I had a screw loose!

Great eye, Lou Ann. According to my authority on everything, Uncle John's Bathroom Reader, which often explains the origin of common phrases, "The phrase comes from the cotton industry and dates back as far as the 1780s, when the industrial revolution made mass production of textiles possible for the first time. Huge mills sprang up to take advantage of the new technology (and the cheap labor), but it was difficult to keep all the machines running properly; any machine that broke down or produced defective cloth was said to have "a screw loose" somewhere." Probably more info than you wanted to know.
