Only the hardiest flowers are holding on right now. We are in the middle of an extreme, record breaking heat weather event, 109 F today. Staying inside in the air conditioning is the only thing to do!
Lovely daylily shot. We had some days as high as 115. Wilted all all the new rose growth and set back a lot of other plants. The only good news was that after that, 95 seemed fairly cool. Hope it cools off for you soon..
@365karly1 This was taken at a park a few days ago. I’m sure the lilies have dropped now! @mbrutus We are supposed to have below 100 next Thursday and Friday, then back up to 100+. The cotton farmers in West Texas are really struggling right now. @joansmor@ziggy77@carolmw@joemuli@mave@beryl@Weezilou@mittens@olivetreeann@onewing Thank you all for your comments and favs, we are staying inside, only venturing out early mornings! This morning I bought Blue Bell Peach ice cream, so we are set! Ha. Amazingly people are still going to our professional baseball games! Great to hear from all of you today, thank you!
We are also experiencing unusually hot weather - still no significant rain, the lawns are all yellow & the flowers are struggling!
This is a beautiful shot of a beautiful flower!
We almost matched - 108 - the only time I'm out is from 6 to 8 am - and not even the birds are coming out then. Am watering like mad to keep the flowers going. Love your day lilies - know this has to be hard on them (and you, too!)
This is a beautiful shot of a beautiful flower!
