Fate brought Evan Voyles to Austin’s neon sign art business

In 1994, his antique business/home burned to the ground. He lost everything but the old neon signs he had collected while roaming the southwest for years, piled in his back yard. He had refurbished some old signs through the years and decided he would be a neon artist. He has said the fire was the best thing that ever happened to him.

We Texans pride ourselves on our “style” of Mexican food, we call it “Tex Mex”. The Chuy’s on Barton Springs Road in Austin is a shrine to Tex Mex, even more important, it has an Evan Voyles neon sign. He added the yellow neon curly designs to the building you see in the background too.

So it’s Chuy’s for the red in the rainbow today.
What a fun capture for your rainbow!
