We drove through NW New Mexico into Colorado yesterday, beautiful cliffs along the highway showed the geological layers of the land, eroded by rivers and wind over centuries. Mile after mile of gorges, canyons, plateaus and buttes as far as the eye could see, the American Southwest is a beautiful part of the country.
This particular cliff/butte had some geologic rock spires called “hoodoos”, so cool.
Love the term "hoodoos" - must be in southwest Colorado - I'm headed to Colorado in September taking in the area from Grand Junction to Crested Butte to Lake City to Ridgway - old familiar territory.
