I brought my old Nikon camera into the living room to take some proper photos of my Christmas decorations two evenings ago. Imagine my surprise when every view through the viewfinder was blurry. So, this is the Christmas tree, lens blur bokeh style. 😊
Is it your Nikon D3100 thats the problem Lou Ann
1. Try locking the lens by forcing the lens to rotate a fraction of a inch, this will sometimes help the problem. Or simply move the switch from M to A on the lens.
2. Try to switching to a single of the 11 auto focus points, then try if there are specific points that are the problem.
This is done by selecting in the menu of your camera to the points. then focusing on a single object with a background far away. Try focusing on the object then on the background. If this is possible the autofocus point is fine. hope this sorts the problem out:)
@pcoulson thank you Peter, I had tried all those things. It is an 18-105 mm, such a great lens. I’m going to see if the camera shop can take a look at it. I really don’t want to give it up.
