This is our sweet granddaughter Claire Marie, who died two years ago at Christmas, with her little brother Willem. We miss her so much. I thought this would be a good candid portrait and I’m happy to feature Claire in my project. We have had power for one full day and water the same, all is back to “normal” in my home. My son lives in Austin Texas, and because he is on the same electric power grid as a huge electronics company, his power never went off. Austin did have water issues though and he had to gather ice and snow to melt and boil for drinking water. We are all so glad to have this weather event behind us. We are waiting for our pool to thaw so we can assess the damage, we expect it will be considerable. Life goes on though!
This is a beautiful portrait of her. It must bring back bitter sweet memories of her although i imagine the pain will always be there.

Happy to hear all is getting back to normal. Nadya never lost power, but the heater broke so it was pretty cold in the apartment. They have water since yesterday again and was very happy to take a shower...
Such a beautiful girl, so sorry for your loss. I see you keep her in your heart where she belongs. Glad to hear you weathered the storm, and hope the days ahead aren't too bad. My cousin lives north of Fort Worth and her power was out for 4 days! She survived with her fireplace, GAS fireplace. She made tea on it to stay warm.
