The Packard Merlin engine for the Allied’s P-51’s and Spitfires

There were so many things to see and to learn at the WWII Museum. This airplane engine was so amazing looking, the accompanying information explained it’s significance in the European war theater. Packard made the engines licensed through Rolls-Royce for the P-51’s and Spitfires, both legendary WWII planes.
I don’t think I had ever considered that part of the war before. All of the details that are so important during times like that. Fabulous photo of the engine and I’m glad you included the information shot

I just couldn’t get over the design of this engine. It was incredible in person. I had to wonder how much training the mechanics had to have to work on those engines! This is on the PP today, thank you so much.
