No one knows

This 1994 Vaillancourt Santa broke in half 5 years ago. I discovered the break at Christmas that year and glued him back together. He stands with all of the other Vaillancourts on the China cabinet and no one ever says “oh, he’s broken”. He gets extra attention when I’m packing my decorations!
You did great job Lou Ann, he looks fabulous from the front :-)

Well done -- no evidence of the break on the front - perhaps a little paint on the back would help to disguise the break!

Excellent camouflage job. Thanks for showing the backside so we could see it.

He looks fine

Nothing to be seen at the front, which I suppose is the most important thing.

Great that you could repair him so well.

From the front you'd never know (except maybe his surprise expression- oops how did that happen!?) Actually if the firing in the kiln is not perfect sometimes internal cracks can be there and they won't affect the piece for years. But who knows? He still looks good and is treasure worth keeping.

Very nice

He is gorgeous. Matching the paint and going over the glue would make him look more decent from the back, though.

I used to hate imperfection, not I’ve learnt that they can give something more depth. Nothing is perfect and when you accept that live is easier.
