Frozen Hosta by loweygrace

Frozen Hosta

Another bitterly cold day without any ideas for a photo! Wondered what temperature my camera would freeze when I ran out to take a shot of this frozen hosta leaf!
I feel your pain with taking a winter shot. Well done though!

Lovely textures Lois. Think the cameras are pretty hardy, it seems to be the batteries that give up in the extreme cold.

I see these tender plants frozen like this and wonder how they manage to survive and come back the next year with such vim and vigor.

I've wondered the same about what temperatures cameras can survive. A picture of an arctic photographer gave me a clue — his camera was literally covered in ice and snow (as was his beard and face mask) and yet he was shooting away like mad. I'm not going to test mine to see if it'll do the same tho. :)
