This is a 12 yr old dancer who started practicing with pointe shoes last November. She showed me the wooded tips and special gel cushion she wraps around her toes.
A fav! I love your DoF and focal point, and the anonymity of the dancer but clearly her gracefulness. It's really lovely. Even the background works, with its symmetry. A very thoughtful composition.
Beautiful shot and so graceful. My sister did ballet for many years but unfortunately, her toes paid the price and they got seriously deformed because of dancing on point.
I love ballet shots😊 I always wanted to do ballet but didn't until I was in my 20s living in Bristol and went to adult classes. Loved it and still have my shoes hanging on my wardrobe door.
Beautiful picture! The lighting and tones have such an elegant, exquisite feel, perfect for these gracefully feet. I saw a poster the other day of the very beat-up toes of a ballet dancer, with the caption that said something along the lines of Everyone wants success until they find out just how hard it is to achieve. Best wishes to this young dancer.
Like Andrea I love ballet shoes and was really envious of my friends who went to ballet classes when we were young! Excellent focus and gentle tones. @andreajoy
@loweygrace I've come back feeling like I might need to explain my earlier comment on this picture. I should've also said that I had no idea ballet was so tough on the feet before seeing that mentioned poster and that seeing it gave me a whole new appreciation for what these dancers go through to achieve their dream. The young lady whose feet you've featured here knows the challenges ahead and yet she presses on despite the discomforts. That's impressive.
