My aunt sent us this paper basket heart ornament in 1981 made by my Grandfather in 1951. She enclosed this note with the ornament:
I'm enclosing this little basket in memory of Grandpa. I found a packet of them in Grandma's things. Grandpa made them before his very last Christmas (1951). He had time on his hands- and remembered making these as children in Sweden to hang on the Christmas tree- and fill with candy. His last Christmas, cousin Carol (who was 5 ) sang a song in Swedish at the Christmas program- "More secure is no one ever than the loved ones of the Father" which brought tears to his eyes. He died in January.
