It was cloudy and overcast again today. Decided to go for a drive and look for some horses or other animals to photograph outside of town. That didn't go too well. Couldn't find anyplace to pull over without getting runover so gave up on that project and drove through one of the older neiborhoods and found this fungus growing on an old tree. Had to handhold because I left the tripod at home and the dof is a little shallower than I would like but all-in-all a pretty cool fungus.
@jupiter394 A little more light would have helped. I think we are going to get snow tonight and if the temps drop down into the teens tomorrow I think this fungus will be toast. Or it will look even more cool. I tried to photograph this huge ball of mistletoe, it must be 18" across, but since it is about 15' in the air I can't get a good exposure. Even my external flash is not strong enough to highlight it.
