The season has started here and I took shots of the different stages before. I am still not quite sure why the fruit gets individually packed in paper bags. There are literally thousands on the trees.
That’s absolutely amazing. I love pomegranates, they’re one of my favourite fruits, but I’ve never seen them growing. This is a fabulous collage. Thank you. Fav.
Ps We have a tiny pomegranate tree which we bought at a plant fair a year ago. It will never produce fruit in our climate but it would be wonderful if it produced some of these beautiful flowers. If it does my 365 friends will be the first to know 😁.
Perhaos the paper bag is to help them to ripen quicker .. they are lovely fruit and look like little gem's on a dish.. Had a laugh the other day when I saw a delivery truck painted up with Pomegranate .. and it said.. No a pomegranate is not and English Quarry ... had to think for a couple of minutes and then the penny dropped..
Beautiful collage of the different phases of this fruit. I think the bags are to protect the fruit from insects. Btw my wife goes crazy for this fruit when it is in season.
@susiemc That would be great Sue, I missed the flower in the beginning as I was too late ;-) @koalagardens the flavour is fabulous, but so many kernels ;-) @bruni I should have thought of that Bruni, I did not get the first flower though ;-)
