at Vergenoegd. Although I do like the wooden wall and decorations, I do not like the furniture at all. There are only these 4 tables, and the same on the other side of the main entrance. It is also much too dark in there, I would not have been able to read the menu. We opted to go and have lunch somewhere else, as it was too cold and windy to sit outside.
I am with you - a lovely wooden wall but the dining furniture look so utilitarian ( or is it very modern !! ) reminds me of a school dining room furniture !
There is a bit of a disconnect in this room. The furniture doesn’t go with the wall and that floral arrangement hanging from what looks like a hula hoop looks out of place. I can see why you chose to eat elsewhere.

Weigh exact
Leave egg whites to age for a few days
Meter your oven for exact temp
Follow recipe exactly but sometimes I find I need to leave the macronage a bit thicker
Don’t make on really humid or wet days, it does make a difference!
Dry them properly, this is what makes the feet form.
Don’t do a big batch, I learnt the hard way!
One egg is a great way to start
Blitz your almond and icing sugar in a food mixer for a few seconds on pulse so it is fine unless you can get hold of fine almond flour. Ours is grainy, or sieve a few times.
Use non stick thin baking sheet or baking parchment. Too thick and the bottoms don’t cook properly.
Adjust your recipe until it works!

It’s taken me about 10 goes to get them like the photo! But at least the failures are yummy!
I understand the "look" - see it here a lot. there has to be some kind of connect between the tables, chairs and the wooden shelves. If they styled the shelves with simple contemporary shapes, got rid of the dried flower stuff, removed the center table and put in a different rug it might have a better eclectic look.
The wooden cabinet looks ok, but wooden chairs and tables would also add to the ambiance. in German we would say: "Gewollt aber nicht gekonnt" English " trying but not able"
