We had to spray our roses with an oily substance to get rid of the beetles! I talked about it during the summer. I cut off all the blooms first. The beetles didn't come back...yet!
They are beautiful! Try a little Dawn dishwashing detergent and warm water in a spray bottle. Works for several types of aphids, maybe it'll work for beetles.
@gardenfolk I have to spray regularly when the buds start to open, they demolish the whole bud in no time ;-) @marlboromaam Thanks Mags, that does not work, I've tried everything and now resort to chemicals :-( @grammyn They eat all the buds if I do not spray, you will see by the end of the month what the poor roses look like ;-) @koalagardens Yes the are important pollinators Katrina, but you will see what my roses look like if I don't spray them. Sad for both :-(
