affected by the horrific fire which jumped across four, fanned by extremely high wind. It started due to unseasonably hot and dry weather, fanned by extremely strong winds in a pine plantation. It started behind the Helderberg on the right and within hours the wine farms on our side were threatened. Fortunately the wind changed and blew it back up the mountain, so that only the top slopes were burning. No wine estates were in danger, but many luxury homes on the other side were gutted. The rain came when needed most and it is still raining.
@pamalama@merrelyn@wakelys@365projectorgheatherb@milaniet We have had over 300mm of rain these last few days and it is still raining! Now many areas are flooded, even underground parking lots and many roads are closed. A bit too much of everything ;-)
