Hard to believe

that there are only 24 hrs between these shots. The poor Weaver is flying to and fro, alternating between picking grass and weaving his home. In the first shot he still has a blade of grass in his beak.
This is so well composed and photographed to show their progress. Looks to be a beautiful nest!

Oh my! What a great illustrative collage! He’s a fast home builder, our construction workers here could take a lesson or two from him!

The nest is a work of art
July 6th, 2018
@yorkshirekiwi You might not believe this, if the female does not like it, she rips it apart! I have seen that happen quite often :-(
July 6th, 2018
@salza Not only that Sally, she rips it apart. I must say that this is a rather unusual looking one. The other nests are all built in a different style ;-)

Wow...maybe I should hire him to redo our roof?!? Excellent work! And we could pay in bird seed! :) Fav.

That ability is simply and incredibly remarkable!!! Marvelous to see this pairing!
July 12th, 2018
@gardenfolk haha...seems a plan if you're taking up residence in a "Little Grass Shack in Hawaii"! (How's that task coming along?!)
July 12th, 2018
@Weezilou Haha! They have not started on the roof...yet! Have not given us a new start date after bidding on dry rot but it will be done this summer! :)
July 12th, 2018
@gardenfolk Quick as the weaver bird?!
July 12th, 2018
@gardenfolk @Weezilou Thanks so much! We have hundreds here on the estate. It take them max 3 days the complete the outside. Then the female finds the padding for the inside. I used to have a tree full of nests, until Minky came along and chased them to the neighbours. They now build in thorn trees and are very safe ;-)
