Mr and Mrs Cape Turtledove

they were actually leaning against a neighbours fence, with a lot of grass all over. Not sure if he was just letting the afternoon sun shine on his wing. There were quite a few, they were all lying in this position which I have not seen before.

I think they display their wings like this to let sunlight under their wings to get rid of lice etc and also to chat up the lady doves too. Not sure if this one is feeling hygienic or frisky.
