Every farm has one............

slave bell. It was rung early every morning, when they had to come to work. A sad part f our history, never to be forgotten. To the left are the famous 150 year old Camphor trees of Vergelegen.

I was not aware of these bells either...a sad part of history. In a way, I am surprised they have not been taken down...or it would be nice to find a new/happier use for them.
