of Muizenberg. Once the pride of many an owner, now just derelict and falling apart. Some were still okay but had very rusty hinges and locks. Other have had some wood and steps pulled out.
Such a shame they are no longer in use. Beach huts cost a fortune here in the UK and are much sought after - and that's without your lovely blue skies all the time!
For neglect they sure do boast some bright colors! I've heard of places where life savings can be sunk into own one of this. The kind along the shore closest to me are not wooden but canvas with a wood frame- like a camping tent. They're still pricey even though portable! Good shot!
@carole_sandford it seems to be a racial issue Carole. They used to belong to some rich white people who have moved away. They were then used by unsavoury characters to ambush people on the beach and rob them. It was then decided by the government to remove them. The locals went up in arms and onto social media. It was then decided to restore them. They get painted regularly, but for some people it seems to be fun to destroy them. A few years ago two of them were set alight in St. James which is just around the corner. Too much hatred in this country I'm afraid.
Time I went that way again
