in Muizenberg. I think they are not being used as most of the doors were unhinged. I was not aware that they had these further down on the beach, although we passed through Muizenberg almost every weekend when I was a child. I just knew the ones in front and in St. James.
@olivetreeann They have been closed long before covid Ann. They have been vandalized, doors, slats and steps broken down and padlocks destroyed. Some were even set alight. The government wanted to take them down, but a local initiative got the upper hand and decided to look after them.
@ludwigsdiana That's too bad- I thought these huts were in high demand. Is this beach not as appealing as some others? Well, at least someone is supposed to be taking care of them. Maybe they will restore them completely at some point.

The problem is that many unsavoury characters have taken over the area. They do not like to be reminded of the past and like to destroy any reminders. During apartheid they were not allowed on this beach ;-(
