Cape Gooseberry by ludwigsdiana

Cape Gooseberry

This was the largest skeleton. I left it on the bush till the inside had rotted away.
What a beautiful capture.

Interesting fact I just learned. I looked up to see if we had gooseberries here in Maine as I had never seen them. Well they are illegal as they harbor bark beetles that eat our white pines. Maine is known for white pines.

@merrelyn They certainly are Merrelyn, just not sure if I should let them stay on the bush or just pick the little ones up from the ground. What do you do with yours?
@joansmor That really is interesting Joan, never seen any bugs or beetles on them ;-)

it's like filigree
June 7th, 2021
@ludwigsdiana I tend to pick them up from the ground, because there are always ones that you miss when picking the fruit.
