Our town usually has an elaborate lighted parade and thousands of people come and line the streets. This year they had just a few displays and people drove through. You can kind of see the lights on the buildings in the background. Every year all of the buildings on the town square are covered in beautiful colored lights.
All the holiday light displays this year are drive through. Everyone says they are nice but you wait a long time before you ginally get to drive through. Everyone is just trying to make the best of it though. This is a lovely scene.
Ours was much smaller this year, too. Only 2 large decorated floats, some cars and trucks (and noisy tow trucks with lights). some walkers and horseback riders - people stayed in their cars mainly to watch (which was smart) Not nearly the number of pretty lights you had.
Nice that they did something for the season, even if small. Our Chicago version is quite scaled back...but then again, not many people around and certainly the budget is dire.
