So I tried the oil on water thing... I'm not sure how it's supposed to be done, I'm sure there are very complicated set-ups and lighting rigs and whatnot for this, but I just filled a glass with water, dropped some oilve oil in and shone lights into the base of the glass.

i dont think how it's supposed to be done really matters. Its always far more interesting to do your own experimenting and get some unique results. This is so abstract and wonderful. perfect circles and the 2 in the middle almost look like planets.
