This week's 52 Week Challenge theme is Hard ;)
Back at school, maths was most definitely not my strongest subject. I was pretty good at languages though, particularly the Irish language. Now, here in Ireland, if you take a state exam through Irish, you're automatically awarded extra marks.
Knowing how much I was struggling with maths, I decided to learn the Irish words for all the terminology I'd need, take the Irish language version of the paper and bag myself a few extra points... and it worked! I scraped by with a pass mark by literally a few percent... probably the only maths problem I've ever effectively solved :P
(Week 15: Artistic - Hard.
Your artistic inspiration this week is hard. Hard is both an adjective and an adverb. Interpret this how you wish.)
*Thanks everyone for the comments, fav's & follows, in case I don't get around to responding to each one individually*

Congratulations Mel. Maths is not the easiest of subjects for most people. Good initiative to stack the cards in your favour. Like the broken pencil in your shot. Adds an emotional story to the composition.
cool shot mel and i very much concur with the maths being hard notion. i am hopeless at it, but also good at languages like you! i find that my mathematically challenged brain is unhelpful for photography as well, as it feels like i have to work some things out by trial and error rather than simply understanding the numbers :)
I love this shot so much - and very informative text! I am with you on the math and being better at languages... I want to be good at math and love it; it just never happened!
