It may not look like much, but the brown splodge in the middle of everyone's legs here is a tree stump which is estimated to be around 6,800 years old. Our local environmental protection/climate change action group hosted a walk to see an ancient sunken pine forest this evening, it' amazing to think it's been there that long.
Seemingly the sand here goes through phases of being eroded and redeposited so they're not always visible, this evening was one of the lowest tides of the year, so the tops of a few of them could be seen.
