I thought it was a great idea to build a snowman. Then I would put birdseed on the head and hands, then get great pictures of birds on it.
I succeeded in traumatizing the birds, and squirrels. Not one single bird or squirrel has come around since this was build yesterday.
A brilliant shot - the feet in the snow yesterday traumatised me - ha!! so cold. I love this, and the story. amazing how clearly you have caught it in the dark ...next year's Christmas card?
haha...that is too funny!! I think she's really cute :) I felt sorry for the birds today, so I went out and bought 2 feeders! I like your idea better, though!
Oh, so cute!!! Are they really avoiding you now?!? This makes me laugh!!! But what a fun idea, and who knows, maybe when they get used to it you will get some good shots yet!!! :)
@miranda Sorry Miranda for traumatizing you yesterday, and sorry for traumatizing the birds today... Now I just have to figure out who I can traumatize tomorrow...:-) @plp Patty I hope you get some good bird shots to share . @marileed@photogirl@kerristephens@lynnmwatson@yoelao@oleary Thanks for the kind words. I do appreciate them very much. @brandyness Brandy, I'm trying to enjoy the massive amount of snow we get, however I can. :-) My first snowman with hair. Thank you for your kind words. @missyrosebee Missy, I hope the birds will get used to it. Thanks for the kind words. @jonna I'm hoping the birds get used to the stranger in town. Thanks for your kind words. @cstewart You know I think I will add peanuts and suet. Thanks for the kind words and great idea. I'm going to make this work somehow. @cfitzgerald Courtney, I think they will get used to it. I hope. I'm going to add some peanuts and suet...thanks to @cstewart's good idea.
Thanks for the kind words.
Great hat, in fact great snow man (woman) I tried to attract birds to my back window yesterday but didn't get any, the birds and squirrels don't trust me since they know there are two dogs that sometimes come into the yard.
Yay you posted her. I think she is lovely and those birdies won't resist for long. Keep trying with bread crumbs, peanut butter, seeds, etc and they will eventually come. Maybe try hanging suet. Somewhere, someway you shall succeed. She is adorable btw.
This sure is one grand snowman...I bet those birds and squirrels are just tricking you and coming around when you aren't looking...sure would be cool to get some pics of them on him though!!!
Such a pretty snowman! Love the hair, and I think that the bird food would be a great addition! Never thought this cutie would scare the birds?!? What the heck? Maybe they will get used to it, and venture closer to it, and find the food!
Ha ha that's so funny, I suppose it kind of works in the same way as a scarecrow! Hope you have flattened him so the birds can return....I think he looks good though :-)
And he is so smiling and inviting :))
Perhaps they have to use to it at first .
thank you for your kind comments on my site, Margaret!
no, we did not get inside to the Hatshetsup`s palace, a Egyptian man took a photo for me from this chapel of Anubis, we were not allowed to go there perhaps for our own safe.
