The odder the plant, the happier I am. What the heck is this thing? It looks so delicate, but had these spikey things all over it, even on the stem. I wanted to pick one to bring home, but I was afraid of it. :-)
Gorgeous Capture! Love the colors and detail. wonderful lighting! What it is - is a Teasel - has small lavender flowers clustered in an egg-shaped, thistle-like spike on a prickly stem. Mostly found in fields and roadsides, brought over from Europe. But a foo foo is great, too, Maggie!
Beautiful - it's a teasel - they are looking great this year - I've never noticed them in flower before but I've never been doing 365 before either....
gorgeous but... I brang one in the garden last year anf they're all other... very invasive, be carefull!
Margaret, you make me laugh so much!! This looks great magnified, BTW! The regularity of that spikiness is really quite mathematical!
