We passed this house on our way home from our thanksgiving picnic at the lake. I was going to say I thought this was a bit weird, but what can a person say that has a picnic for thanksgiving. I'll shut up now.
Happy Thanksgiving Margaret! I have never seen such a huge cornucopia! Wow! I hope to catch up and view all your other fabulous photos I have missed over the past couple months!
Looks like they just didn't know what do to with all those leftover pumpkins!! Nice capture. You had a picnic?? That sounds wonderful . . especially if the weather was nice. :)
Wow! Love all those colours! Thanks for your comments.....last year we were lucky enough to live on Hilton Head Island, SC where our views were so very different..........it seemed very easy to photograph beautiful things when surrounded by incredible natural beauty.....here it's a different challenge!!!
They certainly went all out decorating for fall. I don't think a picnic is at all weird. If the weather permits, it sounds like a wonderful change of pace.
So lovely!
Recipe is: x oz rice crispies plus x oz marge plus x mars bars!!! Melt the marge and bars mars, mix with the crispies, pat down and leave to set! (in our case, 15oz marge, 15oz crispies, 15 mars bars but I doubt you'll want to make that much :p)
Holy crappamoly! I liiike it!! It's MUCH nicer than all those hideous dead turkey carcass pics people have been posting!
Hang on, did you say picnik?? in NY?? in November?? Yes, you are very cracked, Margaret! (or maybe you just have the world's best thermal underwear???)
@dannydavies Danny, the first thanksgiving was celebrated in 1621, to commemorate a good harvest, and now it is more about remembering what we are thankful for, good friends, family and good fortune.
@tabbycat Tabitha, it was around 50 degrees, quite warm for November. I'm a person that will enjoy a good picnic in frigid weather with a snow storm around me if I have to. I do have good long johns too. :-)
I have seen some over-the-top Christmas decor, but never, never have seen a thanksgiving display, let alone one like this! I believe it takes the cake!!
wonder what happens when Thanksgiving is over.
glad you shared this with us.

Tell me Margaret. Why do you celebrate "thanksgiving".
