St Patricks by maggiemae

St Patricks

This is Oamaru's Basilica built of Oamaru stone and opened in 1894. Noteworthy features of the building are the ceiling panels of embossed zinc and pillars of Corinthian style made famous by the Greeks and Romans. The portico and dome were added by 1903 and by 1918 the entire building was complete. This is morning Mass on Sunday.
See... I went to church on Sunday (but didn't go inside!)
ps This is not an April Fool joke
