Footbridge

This is an old and historic rail footbridge that fell into disrepair over the last 40 years. Voluntary work has restored the strength of this edifice and is now awaiting finishing touches.
Restoration of the rail footbridge will bring back the historical link between the Oamaru Harbour and the Victorian stone buildings in the historic precinct. The vegetable garden in the forefront belongs to the Loan & Merc Restaurant right there! It's amazing people don't steal these vegies as they are really in a public place! The harbour with its moored boats can be seen in the background along with the huge Penny Farthing sculpture that was recently erected.

veggie patches in a public place are the best! There's some along southbank in Brisbane...harvested some purple basil seeds but they didn't come up :(
