I chose this photo for my 365th to demonstrate to myself how far I have come in photography and how much I have enjoyed it! This is my Mother sitting on the steps at Pompeii in 1929 and comes from her photograph album. The original photo was quite dark and grainy so I first took a photo, modified it on the computer, printed it out by turning it into a PDF file so I was able to print it out in B&W. The printed photo came out beautifully clear and delightful. I then took this photo of the photo and although you can still see the grain, the face is so much clearer!
In addition my transcript of her 1929 travel diary has been enhanced by the wonderful and interested comments by all my 365 friends. It makes me very keen and enthusiastic to carry on! The same with Mr Man and Yolanda! Your comments are so hilarious and go along with the story so well, it has become an absolute pleasure to create the stories!
YOU ARE DONE--way to go, congratulations, but I hope this isn't goodbye. It has been a sheer delight for me to view your photos and learn from you. You are a grand lady who has such great wit. I have enjoyed your stories of Mr. Man and Yolanda as well as reading your mum's journal, not to mention your fantastic photos.

First of all, congratulations on getting to 365. I love this photo of your Mom. She would be so proud of you. It is perfect for the end of your first year. I want to thank you for all of your wonderful comments on my project. You tell it like it is and I really appreciate that. Cheers to another 365.
@maggiemae I am so happy for you to have such a wonderful photo of your Mom and that you shared it here. I would do the same thing. It is sure a treasure to have along with her writings that I got a bit lost in as I am not familiar with the parts of the world that she traveled.
@okc553 she certainly does here, Tom! I showed the printed photos to my sisters yesterday and they were all amazed and happy that they had seen her before she became our Mum!
Well done Maggiemae, this is a wonderful way to complete your year.
It's been a real pleasure to share so many fantastic photos with you this year. Thank you :)

Congratulations Maggie. I absolutely love the result of your great work to restore your mother's photo. It's so beautiful. The texture of the walls is amazing. Fav!
Oh, duh. . .here I was holding you responsible for getting to 366!! I am so happy for you for finishing. . .you seem to have so many projects going at once. . .hope you're going to stay around!
Congratulations on completing Year One, Maggie. Outstanding work on this incredible scene with your mother .... fabulous creative processing. Definitely a fav! Look fwd to following your adventures in the coming yr.
Congratulations on reaching 365!! I have thoroughly enjoyed the adventures of Yolanda and Mr. Man and I'm so glad they will continue! I am also enjoying your mother's historical travels. What an awesome family heirloom to have and be able to work on. This is an amazing shot. I had seen some of the artifacts from Pompeii some 30 years ago now when they came to NYC. It would certainly be a place I'd want to see if I ever went to Italy. Great job on the processing/restoration!
Maggie , big congratulations on completing your 365 , your are a inspiration to all of us . Glad you are continuing with the 365 way of life , wouldn't be the same without you .
OMG I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU WERE DONE AND I MISSED IT! What a FANTASTIC ending, Maggie! Incredible picture on ALL counts! And you must definitely keep on going because I won't have anyone to make me laugh like you do and show me the bright spots that I didn't see of my sometimes crappy pictures! WOW - An entire year of wonderful photos. That's what you have under your belt! Reading the posts above, I'm so relieved that you will still be here! CONGRATULATIONS AND BIG HUG TO YA!!!
@thendrix58 Thanks Terry - I'm glad you like this as much as I do! I have never seen my Mum at this age before - the actual old photos were crap. I keep looking at her!
Glad to know that you are not leaving, Maggiemae. My husband and I will be traveling in New Zealand in April, so I was just going back through some of your photos to share with him. We are looking for the "must see" tour, self-guided of course, since I doubt we'll get back there any time soon. We have only 2.5 weeks, and we'll probably spend most of it in the South Island, because I remember you mentioned once a lot of photos ago that it was the most interesting and beautiful.
