First Gladioli by maggiemae

First Gladioli

The August birth flower is the gladiolus which means sincerity and symbolizes strength of character. Love at first sight is what the hidden message of this flower was during the Victorian era.

Its not August but February here in NZ and thats six months away but in England that is when it would be flowering.
Beautiful

What a beautiful color on this one- it would be lovely to see flowers right now, but it's still a bit cold here. There are a few hints that flowers are on their way though.

I love, love these flowers! - My favorite time of the year is late summer/early fall. I love the warm but DRY climate. (can't stand it when it is really hot and around august it cools down.) - that is when we have these beautiful flowers around. i always by myself a bouquet as a treat to brighten up my kitchen.
