I went down to the main road to do some panning exercise with the motorbikes going to this rally in Central Otago. Thousands of bikes converge on a lakeside area and normally it is freezing at this time - hence the name "Brass Monkey" (freeze the balls off). They camp there, light a huge bonfire and talk bikes.
The panning didn't turn out like I wanted to so I played around with the image to give it the impression of speed, dedication, countryside. This bike still had a couple of hours riding ahead of him.
Three good things:
1/-My tooth still isn't hurting even after two MORE large bits of filling fell out!
2/- The local provincial rugby team won its game after losing many games.
3/- I deleted about 600 photos from my album!
Love the motion you have captured Maggie, I should be asleep but there is a police helicopter with a searchlight circling overhead...so i have given up!
Cool motion pic! I think it does show all those things you said you wanted it to. And deleting 600 pics! That is great! It is so hard to delete pics, but I am facing a major job of it this summer.
An expensive time coming at the dentist !!!! I need to delete loads of a mine but it takes my old computer so long to do anything it's so slow that it puts me off.
Speedy guy, I can tell he was gone in a flash!!
I think you've conveyed the movement well Maggiemae - successful panning is so difficult!
By the way....The Isle of Man TT Races are on now - did your father in law ever race there?
@bluefirebucket no, Mick, he didnt but he went there to watch and actually rode a bike around the circuit! We have a dinner invitation from there signed by a lot of the competitors at that time!
I really like the action in this shot, Maggiemae. I've not done any panning yet, so I can't really help with tips, but once I've tried, we can compare notes. :)
