The sweet smell of daphne

We have the first two flowers of this bush after a lean two years and there looks to be more. It pays to persevere! It has its own slightly piquant smell. I asked John to describe what it smelled like and of course, like a man, he said, "It smells like a flower"!

Three good things:
1. The Garden Room has once more turned into a pool room with the leaking roof in the rain but I sponged a lot up!
2. Made a note of some interesting sites to investigate from 365 friends like George Harliono and Beaver Island.
3. Went on a Motorcycle Trip with Henry Cole on TV across the Nullabor Desert! Fascinating!

I had a Daphne once upon a time. It has a nice cinnamon scent as I recall. Mine was great until it started thinning in the centre ... and then I got divorced! haha

AHHHH love the daphne, always forgetting that your seasons are the opposit of ours. I so look forward to mine blooming in Feb. so I can bring a tiny sprig indoors.
