After the drama of the aeroplane being diverted to Auckland because of storm weather and our final result of actually achieving a bedroom by 3.30am, we continued our flight to Christchurch and flew over the top of all the bad weather.
However on retrieving our car we found numerous roads closed due to huge trees falling! This was only a couple here but we saw actually hundreds of uprooted huge trees and lines down on the way. Planes were late all over the country but appeared to get places safely - good pilots employed here!
Three good things:
1. Finally home safe!
2. Only wind damage was a chair blown off the verandah.
3. John called this another adventure and I agree!
A big adventure & a long flight home! Interesting to hear the sort of weather my family is having through your postings on 365.
So glad you are safely tucked up in your own bed as I write this......winds are scary!
