It was raining - hence the splodges on the lens and we were down by the harbour. The lady in the car was throwing out food to the delight of the seagulls who squabbled loudly over the scraps. The headland at the back is called Wanbrow and has had pine trees for 100 years but this year they are all being felled! Due to a lot coming down in a recent storm and being nearly ready for harvest anyway. Council are calling for ideas.
Three good things;
1. Went out for brunch to a favourite restaurant now under new management and was horrified at the standard of food. The fishwas soaked in oil, thick shells of inedible batter and the chips were greasy and soft! However the good part was after complaining we were offered a large square of brownie at no charge.
2. Discovered a large box of memorabilia of our respective parents.
3. Sitting up straight makes you feel good!
wow! there are so many of them I felt sure this was edited this way when I first saw it! Great edgy shot! l hate to hear all the trees are going. What will keep the land from eroding?
I would be a little creeped out if I saw that many.
And your three good things: Hooray for a free brownie--but yuck on the not so great food. What a fabulous find--a box of memorabilia--enjoy!!!!
I need to work on my posture.
I am a seagull fan so love this shot! Great flight shot. I noticed trees being felled on SH1 at the weekend. Changes the whole landscape after so many years.
The view will be very different with all the trees gone...shame really but I know they can be a cash crop. You caught these birds very clearly considering they are all moving fast maagiemae.
Our fish & chips at the new place on Monday night weren't good either, we will not be going back....cold & expensive....we should have complained too but didn't like to make a fuss when you are with friends! One good thing thought , they had puddings unusual in a fish & chip shop. I hope they improve as it's a new shop in a prime place in Garstang & the place needs it.
What a neat capture. I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful shot, and yes it does remind me of Hitchcock's thriller....The Birds! Hope you enjoyed your brownie :-)
My first thought also was "Hitchcock". Lovely capture though, I love the motion blur on some of the seagulls. And I can't help it, I feel very bad about all those trees being felled, even if it is time to "harvest" them for cash.
@tristansmum I do agree with you Stephanie. Trees affect weather and also give out oxygen! They are going to plant bushes etc but will leave the stumps which I think will be ugly!
