This is the first morning at this holiday bay in the Marlborough Sounds. I pulled the curtains and saw this picture, grabbed my tripod and camera and went to town (not literally!) I knew that it might not happen like this and I was right - the next day and after, it was rough.
This bay is also known as Whenuanui Bay. Its really great, magnified!
Three good things;
1. I did have a camera to record this moment
2. I didn't have to get into the water to capture this!
3. This sort of place makes your shoulders relax and you take a deep breath!
Fave for me too maggie ...the water is just a sheet of glass. Another lady who uses her tripod....I have never used mine but Peggy uses hers......you must shoot manual more than I do Maggiemae. Would you use a very slow shutter speed here & set that yourself...must look on the exif.
@happypat the exif doesn't show much, Pat. When its bright like this, I can't make my camera do long exposure - it's not a DSLR. I usually use the aperture option and change the esf to suit.
@phil_howcroft Thanks Phil for that nice comment and you are right! When I saw how this came out, I couldn't wait to put it up! I'm going to send it to the owner of the cottage we rented.
Just a gorgeous perfect shot Maggie. The reflection is amazing..
A perfect mirror
