Temporary rose citizen by maggiemae

Temporary rose citizen

I bought a particularly beautiful rose in to photograph and noticed there was a family in situ! Aren't we glad these earwigs don't get in our ears?

Three good things:
1. The family was refused citizenship.
2. Macro scares me sometimes!
3 I do know I am bigger than a lot of bugs! And smarter!
Very cool

Eeek -- great capture, but not something I'd want to find in flowers in our house!

Fabulous macro, Maggiemae - not so keen on earwigs, though. I often find them in my roses, too. Ick.

Super but I have a great revulsion towards earwigs !!

How is the first good thing good? There must be a story here...

beautiful colour and capture

Ah here you are...had to scroll down for ever to reach you! Just look at those nippers...who wouldn't be worried about those things. Not keen on earwigs myself & they move too fast for me!

@kaesebiscuit I'm talking about the family of earwigs that was in the centre of the rosé, Mr B!

Beautiful rose, but I am not a fan of earwigs--not at all!!! Macro is amazing--I see things I can never see with my own eyes ; )

Great macro, but I do find that earwigs have a rather strong "ew" factor for me. I once cut a peach in half, planning to eat it--the inside was swarming with them.

such a good close up

Not something I'd like to see in my rose!
January 22nd, 2014
I dont like earwigs they just eat all my seedlings.
January 22nd, 2014
Hate earwigs. Never thought to photograph one.

This will keep me awake at night. Great shot and love your title. Looks huge but I know it is not, right?

Amazing shot! I'd have tossed the rose outside and left it. I can't stand insects in my house. Even though you captured it nicely, it is still creepy.

@prttblues There were too many earwigs in this rose - it went down the garbage disposal before the earwigs found out how to multiply!
