Our mailbox doesn't get used that much nowadays, in fact NZ Post is considering reducing mail deliveries to only three per week!

Three good things:
1. Receiving a real letter in this mailbox.
2. Got some peculiar looks from cars passing by!
3. Getting hooked up in finding more about a lady who I went to school with and has now been recognised as a major poet. She died in 1975 and no family remains.
You have one gorgeous mail box. Nobody writes letters anymore and bills get paid on line. We are considering doing away with Saturday deliveries. Mostly I just get junk.
I love your NZ post boxes...thy just fascinate me. Yours is a beautiful example of them....I expect you painted the flowers yourself maggimae!
We have bought back three of those plastic ones with the drop down lid & little red arm sticking up. We love them because we can put our letters in there for posting & our very obliging postman Tony takes them to the sorting office for us. Three days a week is not good though....do you have lots of junk mail...we get loads!!!
What a beautiful mailbox!! I love it!! I just have a letter box in my front door with Finlay waiting on the otherside to catch anything that gets posted through!!
@happypat This box was here when we bought the property 4 years ago and on the front is a metal sign: "No Circulars" ! And it is taken notice of which amazes me!
Well you do have a fancy post box. We have been contemplating a cut back in home delivery here in the States too. So far it has been delayed, but surely it will happen
