Perseverance by maggiemae

Perseverance

This foxglove forced its way through the crack of the decking boards! It would have been thin and hardly noticeable then. Flowering, it becomes very obvious! Dear wee thing!

Three good things;
1. I will never knock perseverance!
2. Honesty is the best policy (I don't know why I said that!)
3. The electrician is under the house poking wires up through the wall and making muffled sounds - I hope he hasn't electrocuted himself!
Very pretty.

Lovely shot and water droplets

There's something very humble about this Maggie. Mother nature always wins against man.

Amazing the way it's grown through the cracks.
February 14th, 2014
How beautiful this is!!

Beautiful

This is lovely, and a fav for me--love the droplets! But I think it's a foxglove rather than a hollyhock.
February 14th, 2014
The flowers look so exhausted! But the young buds so strong and upright

Got to admire the determination. ^__^

@tristansmum of course it is, Stephanie! Thanks for fav and for correct definition!
February 14th, 2014
Wonderful drops and softness!

What a fantastic symbol for never giving up. Robert the Bruce would have approved :-)

Beautiful shot, Maggiemae. Perseverance is so necessary.

I certainly hope you electrician is okay. And yes, honesty is ALWAYS the best policy!!!
February 15th, 2014
So pretty. I hope no one steps on t. Maybe you could build a little fence around it?
February 15th, 2014
@skstein What a good idea, Sandy - it will be made with matchsticks!
February 15th, 2014
@yonnie Thanks Yvonne - life brings new directions every day - mine is not going to be under the house!
February 15th, 2014
Great example of perseverance fighting it's way out of the dark and into the light.
February 15th, 2014
does it get to stay?
February 15th, 2014
@chard I would never dream of standing on it!
February 15th, 2014
Ha! What a persistent little plant! Wonderful capture!!
February 15th, 2014

Great shot! Love the colors and the detail. I don't know what you do for processing but it makes all your photos look so soft. This is really pretty.
February 15th, 2014
@prttblues I just put a vignette on it "edge blur' its called in iPhoto! Thanks Bev!
February 15th, 2014
Mother Nature must've been in that mood to say, "Heck yeah, I'm getting through that crack!" Great shot!!!
February 15th, 2014
you have such interesting things happen
your foxgloves are a good lesson to all of us to keep on trying.
February 15th, 2014
Looks like you've had a drop of rain. Amazing the lenghts a plant will go to.
February 15th, 2014
The flowers look like hand held speakers. Maybe this foxglove really has something to say when it has to go through all the trouble to squeeze out of the crack.
February 15th, 2014
@yaorenliu Now, Yao, you have issued a challenge! Yoicks and tallyho!
February 15th, 2014
Terrific little flower, so pretty.
February 15th, 2014
That is an excellent capture.
February 15th, 2014
Great and yet had you planted seeds in the garden, there might be nothing...nature picks and chooses. So little light under decking and this can grow..amazing
February 15th, 2014
The tenacity of nature. Lovely shot with those water drops.
February 15th, 2014
Beautiful! Great DoF. Yay for perseverance!!
February 15th, 2014
How cool to slip up through the crack to decorate your deck. Beautiful shot!
February 15th, 2014
Beautiful clarity and definition, especially with the droplets. Nice job
February 15th, 2014
Lovely photo and impressive persistence!
February 15th, 2014
Very pretty, beautiful shot.
February 15th, 2014
This is my favorite (or one of them) flower! It's so fun to see it push it's way onto/into your table!!
February 15th, 2014
@taffy The table does look a bit like this but this is actually floor decking Taffy!
February 15th, 2014
Beautiful, I love it when nature finds it's own way, unbidden! Hope the electrician survived!
February 15th, 2014
Awesome capture.
February 15th, 2014
1. Perseverance like this deserves to blossom!
2. It's true, although not easy.
3. If the electrician had electrocuted himself, he would not be mumbling right now, so that's a good sign.

4. I love this plant!
February 16th, 2014
5. It is not good that I forgot to say "fav" before but it is always better late than never.
February 16th, 2014
Aww - so nice to find. At our place, the only thing forcing its way up between decking boards is deadly nightshade....
February 16th, 2014
How gorgeous! Lovely image
February 16th, 2014
Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful! How resilient for such a fragile looking little plant, fav.
February 16th, 2014
Beautiful capture of this perserverance! I really like the angle of the shot!

You were certainly cavalier about the possible injury to your electrician! ;~}
February 16th, 2014
Beautiful!
February 16th, 2014
Gorgeous shot,
February 16th, 2014
The electrician is acting like this foxglove....forcing a small wire in wee places....let us hope his electricity blooms where it should!
February 18th, 2014
is the electrician still alive? the foxgloves are very nice and you captured it rather well especially with the water drops.
